III. The Best Electric Scooter of the Year
Australia’s Best Electric Scooters as of March 2025
In no particular order, here are our top picks for the best electric scooters in Australia today.
Pure Escape+
Top Speed: 25 KPH
Max Range: 50 KMS
Power: 500W (Peak Power 900W)
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/pure-escape-plus-electric-scooter
When you think “Pure Electric,” the first thing that probably comes to mind is “sleek,” which is why the new Pure Escape+ was quite a surprise – a welcome one for sure. Their toughest, most rugged ride yet, the Escape+ is designed for riders who want stability, power, and the freedom to go beyond paved streets.
The overall look of the Escape+ is a departure from the Pure Advance aesthetic. First of all, we have the tyres that are clearly meant to traverse rougher terrain. Pure Electric put in the work to design 10-inch tubeless tyres with improved grip and puncture resistance, so your commutes are not limited to smooth urban roads.
There’s also the swept-back handlebars, perforated footpads, and a reinforced steel frame that guarantees a ride that feels planted and comfortable.
Apart from these departures, however, the Pure Escape+ features Pure Electric’s signature forward-facing stance. Performance-wise, it’s equipped with a 500W motor (peaking at 900W) for solid acceleration and hill-climbing. A 36V battery offers up to 50 km of range (Pure Electric’s longest), while the Active Steering Stabilisation keeps wobbles in check, so you get a smooth, controlled ride even on rougher terrain.
With the Escape+, Pure Electric has made a scooter that’s tough, reliable, and ready for more than just the daily commute. If you want a ride that can handle the city and beyond, this one’s got you covered.
Pure Advance Flex 2025
Top Speed: 25 KPH
Max Range: 40 KMS
Power: 500W (Peak Power 900W)
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/pure-advance-flex-electric-scooter
Back for another year on our list, the Pure Advance Flex returns, now with even more power. Last year, it stood out as the most practical e-scooter in Australia, thanks to its innovative 5-point folding system. This year, it keeps everything that made it great while adding a stronger motor for an even better ride.
The Flex remains the ultimate in portability. While most scooters fold at the stem, this one collapses entirely – handlebars, stem, and deck – and shrinks down to a size that easily fits in a cupboard, car boot, or under your desk. Need to bring it indoors? Fold it up and wheel it like a suitcase. It’s designed for convenience.
Now, it packs more power. The upgraded 900W peak motor (bigger than the previous version’s 710W motor) gives you better acceleration and efficiency while keeping the smooth handling, stability, and comfort it is known for. You still get premium features like front and rear indicators, puncture-resistant tyres, Active Steering Stabilisation, and an IP65 water resistance rating – just with extra power under the hood.
Once again, there’s still nothing else quite like it in Australia.
Segway MAX G3
Top Speed: 25 KPH | 45 KPH unlocked
Max Range: 80 KMS
Power: 700W (Peak Power 2000W)
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/segway-ninebot-max-g3-electric-scooter
Over a year ago, the Segway MAX G2 hit the streets and raised the bar for commuter scooters. It brought full suspension and all-terrain power that made it an easy recommendation for everyday riders. But as great as the G2 was, Segway knew there was still room for improvement.
Enter the MAX G3. At first glance, it doesn’t look wildly different. It sticks with the familiar dark grey colour, with red accents this time instead of the G2’s yellow. But the changes under the hood are what make this model stand out.
The MAX G2 already sported impressive suspension, but the MAX G3 features an upgraded system with front and rear hydraulic shock absorbers. The 11-inch self-sealing tyres are bigger and better than before, and the dual-piston disc brakes give you stronger stopping power when you need it.
A stronger 700W motor that peaks at 2000W gives the G3 serious torque, faster acceleration, and better hill-climbing. Furthermore, the range has been extended to an impressive 80 KMS.
Beyond these, Segway also threw in a few smart upgrades. A new curved handlebar improves ergonomics, Segway Airlock lets you unlock the scooter hands-free, and Apple Find My support means you’ll always know where your ride is.
While the Max G2 was already a great scooter, Segway went a few steps further to better refine and enhance your ride.
Segway F3 Pro
Top Speed: 25 KPH
Max Range: 70 KMS
Power: 550W (1200W peak)
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/segway-ninebot-f3-f3-pro-electric-scooter
The F2 Pro was a good commuter scooter that delivered excellent rides for such a low price. Now, here comes the Segway F3 Pro, which refines this performance with more power, better suspension, and even smarter features.
Equipped with a more powerful motor (550W that peaks at 1200W compared to the F2 Pro’s 450W), it boasts stronger acceleration and a steeper 24% hill climbing capability. Meanwhile, the upgraded SegRange™ battery tech extends the range to a good 70 KM – also an upgrade over its predecessor’s 55-KM range.
Where the F2 Pro introduced front suspension, the F3 Pro improves the ride further with front hydraulic and rear elastomer suspension. Dual disc brakes give excellent stopping power, and Segway’s SegRide™ Stability Enhancement and TCS Traction Control System provide better grip and control in all conditions.
At its low price, the F3 Pro features high-end components and intelligent tech that will make your decision-making a lot easier. Brighter automatic headlights, improved IPX6 water resistance, AirLock unlocking (via Bluetooth), and Apple Find My integration are just some of the things you might not expect from a scooter in this price range.
Segway ZT3 Pro
Top Speed: 25 KPH | 40 KPH unlocked
Max Range: 60 KMS
Power: 650W (Peak Power 1600W)
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/segway-ninebot-zt3-pro-electric-scooter
Launched in the 3rd quarter of last year, the Segway ZT3 Pro is made for riders who want more than just a commuter scooter – it’s for those who split their time between city streets and off-road adventures. And it does splendidly for a versatile electric ride.
The first thing you notice about the ZT3 Pro is how solid it feels, showing that it’s built to handle real adventures. The 11-inch off-road tyres grip the road, with curbs and uneven terrain barely registering thanks to the 6-inch ground clearance. It also comes with a dual suspension setup – front telescopic + rear spring – that’s perfect for rough roads.
Power-wise, the 650W motor delivers 1600W at peak, which translates to quick acceleration and great hill-climbing. You can retain the 25 KPH out-of-the-box speed, but if you’re planning to ride on private roads, unlocking the 40 KPH top speed makes a world of difference. Plus, the massive battery and Segway’s RideyLONG™ tech extend your range to 60 KM.
Like other Segways, the ZT3 Pro is packed with smart features that make everyday riding easier. AirLock automatically locks the scooter when you walk away, Apple Find My keeps tabs on it if you ever need to track it down, and the bright 4W headlight makes night riding safer. The dual disc brakes and traction control system give you plenty of stopping power, even on slick roads.
Honestly, the ZT3 Pro is the kind of scooter that makes you want to take the long way home.
Segway GT3 Series
Top Speed: 50 KPH (GT3) | 80 KPH (GT3 Pro)
Max Range: 73 KMS (GT3) | 138 KMS (GT3 Pro)
Power: 1200W (Peak Power 2400W) (GT3) | 2 x 1700W (Peak Power 2 x 3500W) (GT3 Pro)
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/segway-ninebot-gt3-electric-scooter
If you’re looking for a powerhouse scooter, the GT3 series is it. Segway’s third-generation hyperscooters make you rethink what an electric scooter can do, boasting sharp and powerful acceleration that in no way feels reckless. The GT3 reaches an incredible 50 KPH top speed, while the GT3 Pro pushes even harder with dual 1700W motors, hitting a hair-raising 80 KPH speed.
Compared to other scooters in its class, the GT3 dominates. Advanced suspension systems – front twin-tube hydraulic + rear trailing-arm for the GT3 and front adjustable hydraulic linkage + rear trailing arm for the GT3 Pro – keep everything smooth even when the road isn’t. Both models sport 11-inch self-sealing tyres that provide great grip over streets and trails alike. It’s stable at high speeds, confident on turns, and handles hills like a pro.
Then there’s the impressive range; whether you opt for the GT3 or the GT3 Pro, you will ride without having to worry about your next charging stop. The GT3 and GT3 Pro also come with solid extras: AirLock for keyless unlocking, Apple Find My for peace of mind, and enough lighting to keep you visible no matter when you ride.
For anyone who wants a high-speed, high-performance scooter that feels just as good as it looks, the GT3 series delivers.

Kaabo Wolf King GTR
Top Speed: 25 KPH | 105 KPH unlocked
Max Range: 180 KMS
Power: 2 x 2000W
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/kaabo-wolf-king-gtr
Untamed power and rugged capability ensured a spot for the Kaabo Wolf King GTR this year. Powered by dual 2000W motors, it surges ahead with raw force, leaving no doubt that it can tackle steep hills and the roughest terrain. As if that’s not enough, a 72V battery offers an incredible range of up to 180 KMS. Indeed, there aren’t a lot of e-scooters in Australia that can claim to do the same.
Fittingly, a reinforced suspension absorbs shocks for a smooth experience, even at high speeds. Hydraulic brakes provide precise stopping power, while big puncture-resistant 12-inch tyres keep you riding hard without worrying about flats slowing you down. Crafted to handle rain and low-light conditions, it features an IPX5 water resistance rating and a full lighting system.
The entire thing does weigh 62 KG, which can be too much for some riders. For serious off-roaders, however, it’s a small price to pay for such immense power.
With the Kaabo Wolf King GTR, every detail is designed for riders who refuse to settle for less. It’s more power, more endurance, more control in one beastly ride. When it comes to making every ride an adrenaline rush, this scooter is in a league of its own.
Kaabo Mantis King GT
Top Speed: 25 KPH | 70 KPH unlocked
Max Range: 90 KMS
Power: 2 x 1100W
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/kaabo-mantis-king-gt-electric-scooter
Another serious contender from Kaabo, the Mantis King GT brings amazing performance to riders who want power and agility without the bulk of an oversized frame. Weighing just nearly half the Wolf King GTR (33.2 KG vs. the latter’s massive 62 KG), it delivers plenty of power, excellent suspension, and refined handling for a controlled ride.
Dual 1100W motors allow swift and strong acceleration and effortless hill-climbing, while sine-wave controllers keep power delivery smooth. Whether you’re cruising or hitting top speed, the ride never feels jerky.
On the other hand, the fully adjustable hydraulic suspension makes a big difference in keeping your ride comfortable no matter the terrain. Braking is just as refined, with front and rear hydraulic brakes that offer reliable stopping.
The deck is spacious and gives you room to adjust your stance. A bright TFT display puts all your ride stats front and centre, while the IPX5 means your ride can handle significant water exposure from rain or water jets.
With a high-capacity battery that delivers great range, a quick-folding design for easy transport, and fast-charging capability, the Mantis King GT is as practical as it is powerful. Definitely a top-tier ride worth considering.
Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Plus
Top Speed: 25 KPH | 70 KPH unlocked
Max Range: 70 KMS
Power: 2 x 1100W
Shop here: https://www.electrickicks.com.au/products/kaabo-wolf-warrior-x-plus-electric-scooter
Finally, we have the Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Plus, which brings the power of the Wolf series into a sleeker, more agile form. Delivering the best of both worlds, it is designed for riders who want serious performance without compromising portability. This scooter is fast, stable, and definitely ready for anything, whether it’s riding through city streets or taking on rugged terrain.
Despite its compact size, this scooter is anything but tame. Dual 1100W motors deliver strong acceleration, while steep hills and rough paths don’t stand a chance, thanks to its advanced suspension system. With hydraulic shocks in the front and spring suspension in the rear, the ride stays smooth no matter the surface.
When it comes to braking, expect nothing less than precision. The front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power, while the e-ABS ((Electric Anti-lock Braking System) prevents skidding when you need to brake hard.
The 10x3” all-terrain tyres grip the road confidently; on the other hand, the 60V high-capacity battery provides up to 70 KMS of real-world range.
Crafted from aerospace-grade alloy, the Wolf Warrior X Plus is built to last. If you are after the thrill of a high-performance scooter without the bulk of a full-sized Wolf, this scooter is ready to ride.
Top of the Class
Here, we consider which e-scooter is best based on what you’d need the electric scooter to do. These are the scooters that have proven themselves to be proficient at a particular task or activity, or have stood out to us ahead of the competition.

Keeping the MAX line’s strong track record, the Segway MAX G3 stands out for its ability to handle just about anything: daily commutes, weekend adventures, or long-distance rides. It’s the go-to choice for riders who need a scooter that adapts to their lifestyle, no matter where the road leads.
The Trailblazer: Which e-scooter breaks the mould? Pure Advance Flex
The Pure Advance Flex still offers a riding experience unlike any other: its forward-facing stance and ultra-compact form make it as practical as it is groundbreaking. While others follow the traditional blueprint, this scooter keeps pushing the boundaries of what an e-scooter can be.
The Defender: Which e-scooter leads in safety and stability? Pure Advance Flex and Segway MAX G3
Finally, we’re giving this award to both the Pure Advance Flex and Segway MAX G3 – each excels in safety in different ways, which makes it impossible to choose just one winner.
The Flex’s lighting and turn signals ensure you're seen from every angle, while its forward-facing stance and Active Steering Stabilisation tech promote good balance and maneuverability. Meanwhile, the MAX G3’s automatic adaptive headlight, front and rear indicators, and SegRide™ Stability Enhancement System provide exceptional control.
Whether navigating city streets or riding in low-light conditions, both scooters prioritise safety without compromising performance.
Honourable Mentions
A few models also stood out for their performance, range, or unique features. Here’s a look at the ones that earned an honourable mention.
Longest Range
The Kaabo Wolf King GTR wins this category hands-down for delivering an unbelievable range of up to 180 KMS.
Most Portable
The Pure Advance Flex/Pure x McLaren are this year’s most portable scooters. Aside from only weighing 16.2 KG, they both feature innovative folding mechanisms: the 5-point folding form for the Pure Advance Flex and the slimline folding form for the Pure x McLaren.
Best Hill-Climbing Ability
Again, there is no competition for the Kaabo Wolf King GTR, which climbs steep hills and inclines up to 35°.
Smoothest Ride
With upgraded front and rear double hydraulic suspension, larger self-sealing tyres, and an advanced stability system, the Segway MAX G3 delivers the smoothest ride of any commuter e-scooter this year.
Highest Capacity
Both the Kaabo Wolf King GTR and the Kaabo Mantis King GT win this category for their ability to accommodate riders up to 150 KGS.
The Best Electric Scooter of the Year: Pure Advance Flex
After testing, comparing, and debating, one e-scooter stood out above the rest. The Pure Advance Flex 2025 takes the top spot as the best electric scooter of 2025, with the Segway MAX G3 earning a well-deserved runner-up position.
The new Pure Advance Flex continues to redefine how we think about electric scooters. We know how its forward-facing stance offers better stability, visibility, and control, which cements its spot as one of the safest and most innovative rides in the country. Its compact, foldable design also makes it incredibly practical for urban commuters.
However, the upgraded motor is the factor that sealed the deal. This boost in power ensures smoother takeoffs, better hill climbing, and an overall more dynamic ride, making it the ultimate electric scooter of the year.
Meanwhile, the Segway MAX G3 comes in as a very close second, excelling in nearly every category. With its powerful motor, exceptional range, and upgraded suspension, it’s built for riders who want a smooth, stable, and feature-packed ride. Advanced safety features, including turn indicators, traction control, and an upgraded braking system, make it one of the smartest choices for everyday riding.
While it doesn’t bring the same groundbreaking design as the Pure Advance Flex, its well-rounded performance makes it a top contender.
With so many outstanding electric scooters on the market, this year’s winners prove that innovation, performance, and practicality go a long way. Whether you’re looking for raw power, long-range endurance, or a smarter way to commute, there’s never been a better time to ride. Check out all these rides at Electric Kicks!
