Just like any vehicle, from time to time, your e-scooter can break down. Whether that be a dud battery, burnt out controller, puncture, or something else altogether it can be hard to find someone that can fix up your ride & get you back on the road.
But don’t worry - Electric Kicks is here to help.
Our Service Department is now open to all e-scooter riders regardless of whether they purchased their ride from us or another retailer.
We have a full service team of technicians, mechanics, and engineers that have worked on electrical systems to sports cars & electric vehicles. We’ve worked on thousands of electric scooters over the years, and have one of the strongest repair networks in the country.
Our main service depot is located in Vermont, Victoria, but we have official service partners located in all major cities & states across the country.
We specialise in repairing the brands we carry, as we keep a focused selection of genuine spare parts on hand to ensure top-notch service.
However, if you're wondering if we can work on your e-ride, fill out the form below or give us a call and we’ll let you know if we can help you.
While we'll try our best to service any e-scooter, we aren't able work on every model. This is more common among older units that have no spare parts any more, or non-brand electric scooters bought off marketplaces such as eBay, Alibaba or Wish.
Electric Kicks conducts services in two parts:
Our technicians will diagnose the fault in your e-scooter, and compile a list of all the work that needs to be completed in order to get you back on the road. They will then produce a quote for you to carry out the necessary repairs.
You can pick & choose what you do and don’t want done, or if you don’t want any of the work completed, you can decline the quote and pick your ride up after settling up the inspection fee.
If you go ahead with our quote, we’ll order any parts that are necessary and get to work. If anything changes in your quote, we’ll let you know in advance so there are no nasty surprises when you come to pick your e-scooter up.
You’ll receive your invoice once we’ve completed the job, and once that is settled you can collect your ride.
The time it takes to repair an electric scooter depends on three things:
Changing a tyre can be reasonably straightforward, while repairing a motor can be more extensive. If your repair is particularly difficult or technical, this can increase the time it takes to fix. We’ll let you know if this is the case when you book.
For rarer or older models, we may have to source parts from external sources, including from overseas suppliers. In some cases, we might need to use unofficial parts, which is more common on aged units that are no longer in production.
Electric Kicks carries some of Australia’s biggest e-scooter brands, and we have a stockpile of spare parts for our range. For rides we don’t stock, we will reach out to the manufacturer or distributor for parts. This can take time, but we’ll keep you updated with our progress.
We’ll do our best to give you an estimate on how long it will take to complete the repairs, but our average turnaround time of an e-scooter repair is usually less than one week for brands we stock, and can be longer for other brands if we have to source parts.
There are two ways to get your ride to an Electric Kicks service centre:
You can simply drop your ride off at our Melbourne centre in Vermont and leave it with us. We’ll advise you when work is complete, and you can come and collect your ride at your convenience.
If you’ll struggle to bring your e-scooter to us in person, you can also send it via courier. You’ll need to arrange safe delivery of the unit to us, and cover the costs of shipping the repaired unit back to you.
It’s important that you package the e-scooter appropriately - damage caused during transit can be fixed but isn’t covered by insurance or warranty.
Electric Kicks can only complete warranty work if the e-scooter was purchased directly from us. Unfortunately, we are unable to conduct warranty repairs on e-scooters purchased elsewhere, or second-hand rides.
All our parts are covered by a three-month warranty that begins from the date your repair job is completed. This ensures that if any of our parts fail, you’ll be entitled to a free replacement for those parts so long as they didn’t fail due to mis-use.
We only stock parts to be used in e-scooter repairs, and as such, we don't sell or ship electric scooter parts.
Simply fill out the details below and we’ll be in touch to talk about what needs to be done, and how the process works. Alternatively, you can give us a call on 1300 054 257 and press option 3 for servicing.
